Monarch Little League Softball and Baseball kicked off its opening day this Saturday morning, April 10th, at the Louisville Sports Complex. Each team took to the pitcher’s mound for an official introduction. Last season’s All Star teams were also recognized. The ceremony closed with the throwing of the first official pitch of the season, for both softball and baseball.
Games were held all day at the complex while the league put on an equipment swap and Silent Auction. Numerous supporters, both businesses and individuals, donated some great items such as; sports memorabilia (Troy Tulowitski autographed items!), Rockies’ tickets, Colorado Rapids’ tickets, rounds of golf from local courses, restaurant certificates and more. The day ended by Chipotle Mexican Grill in Louisville donating 50% of proceeds from 3-6 p.m. to the league.
